Our Guinea Pig Club 80th Anniversary Dedication Page provides an opportunity to thank and commemorate those that served and sacrificed during the Second World War.
My sister was born in 1948 with a hare lip and cleft palate and was referred to East Grinstead under the care of Sir Archibald Mackindoe. Our late mum told us that he was a wonderful man. My sister underwent a total of seven operations under Sir Archibald and his team, her first at the age of only three months! She was the youngest patient to be operated on. Mum said there was still airman being treated there and you could smell the saline baths. My sister went on to become a nurse.
