My father was in the RAF as a warrant officer flying in a wellington bomber which crashed in Melton Mowbrey and he was the only survivor. He spent many hours in hospital going through treatment that is what todays plastic surgery for burns is based on. No-one can really appreciate what these young men went through all those years ago
