In memory of my late uncle who benefited from the surgical skills at Stoke Mandeville in WW2. My uncle served with distinction in the RAF during WW2. Following the crash of their aircraft, he was severely burned pulling his pilot out of the burning cockpit. They re-constructed his face with plastic surgery.
