Bomber Command Remembrance Wall

FI/Lt James David Mitchell, DFC, RCAF, 156, 627.

Dad served two tours on Pathfinder squadrons as Navigator: 156, 627, Wellingtons, Lancasters and Mosquitos. He left McGill U., 2nd year Engineering and following training, was commissioned and flying ops by August 1942. He did many trips with Lighton Verdon-Roe before this crew were lost when Dad was ill. He then taught navigation between tours, before moving to 627 and flew over 40 ops with Ronald Bartley DFC. They reunited in 1985. I'll never forget the respect and love in that handshake.
